Recent actions and events
Resolution 1H-2013 requires all councils and commissions to undergo a self-assessment on a rotating five-year cycle. The National Commission’s five-year cycle started in 2018; therefore, the requirement to complete a self-assessment that is to be included with the National Commission Annual Report to the American Dental Association (ADA) House of Delegates was adopted by the Board of Commissioners in April 2023.
The National Commission meets on an annual basis to discuss matters related to National Commission operations and specialty recognition. If the National Commission does not meet virtually, meetings are held at the American Dental Association Headquarters in Chicago, IL.
